Chocolate Covered Strawberry Christmas Trees

Oh my god these are seriously SO adorable! And a really awesome flavor combo! These are definitely one of the cutest christmas projects I’ve seen! 

A fun and easy Christmas project to do with your kiddos, and an adorable holiday snack! Great homemade treat for classroom parties, potlucks, Christmas parties etc.














Ingredients:

  • 12 ounces dark green candy melts (found at Amazon, Hobby Lobby or Michael's)
  • 1 pound of strawberries, stems removed
  • 24 Oreo cookies
  • White Icing
  • Sprinkles
  • Candy Stars (order them from Amazon)

   ICING

  • 2 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 3 tablespoons heavy cream
  • Add water by the teaspoon and whisk until the desired consistency is reached. You want it to be thick like toothpaste.

These are the perfect holiday cookie recipe. I love these cookies! They just scream the holidays. These are bound to be my new favorite cookie. Frosted Cranberry Cookies! Glorious soft cranberry shortbread cookies with sweet vanilla icing and sugared dried cranberries on top. I made a double batch of these and gave them out to the neighbors and everyone asked for the recipe ASAP. That is always a good sign! Gingerbread Bars with Cream Cheese Frosting

I just served the last batch of these gingerbread bars of another tea I had…they are the BEST…so pretty…and so tasty. The recipe is a keeper for me.  Chewy, perfectly spiced Gingerbread Bars meet sweet, luscious Cream Cheese Frosting and it is a match meant to be! These are one of the best holiday bars and once you try them you’ll want to make them every Christmas season!  These bars are a nice meet in the middle kind of gingerbread. They aren’t overly spiced, more of a mellow yet still deliciously gingery bar. So kids and adults alike will love them. Sometimes when I make gingerbread with a lot of ginger or molasses it can be a little too strong for my kids but these are perfect. It still had enough ginger and molasses in them that I loved them and it wasn’t too much for my kids because they loved them just as much. Try these gingerbread bars soon, you just can’t go wrong with these during this time of year! Who could resist? They’ll be enjoyed down the the last little crumb....

Birch Log Cake

Around this time of year the snow starts falling and baking season begins. As a baker, this means dozens of cookies and lots of seasonal cakes. Sometimes it’s fun to bake up your family’s traditional recipes and sometimes it’s fun to mix it up a bit. Well, in this case, we used the classic ubiquitous yule log as our inspiration and literally turned it on its side to create this more modern Winter Birch Log Cake. This winter tree look-alike starts with three 6″ cake layers to make a really tall layered cake. You can use any cake flavor you like, but we were partial to this gingerbread latte cake. A tall cake means you have plenty of room to display your birch tree design on the sides and creating the tree bark is deceptively simple.  It starts by painting dark chocolate melted candy coating in a birch tree inspired pattern and then layering it with a thin layer of white coating on top.
